Location: Built above the underwater remains of Cape Canaveral
((OOC Note: While in the Spaceport Area Aegis Settlers wear Blue Armband Biotrackers and Pacha Settlers wear Red Armband Biotrackers. This is intended by the corps to ICly keep track of their assets. Taking off an Armband for more than 15 minutes summons security. OOCly it's more intended as a RP assist so you can jump right into RP with another settler))
What, you thought that mega corps like Pacha and Aegis had their own spaceports? Well you'd be half correct. They have orbital launch cannons for sending supply capsules into orbit, but you wouldn't want to stick a live human into one of those. Tends to get messy. So, they do what all great corporations have done over the years when faced with a need outside of their given expertise. They outsource.
Welcome to the Kibo Memorial Spaceport, "Giving hope to humankind" as the slogan goes. Located in what used to be the State of Florida, before it sank into the ocean, the Kibo Spaceport is humanities gateway to the stars. Hundreds of public launches a day to the orbital yards, the Moon, and Mars, and the only facility on the planet with the capability to launch an interstellar ship to Astreus.
As you might guess, Pacha and Aegis both have private facilities in this massive structure, which include housing facilities for both staff and chosen settlers prior to the next shuttle launch, as well as test facilities, medical facilities, and training facilities. FTL travel aint no joke, and they will make sure their investment is going to make it to Astreus without subsequent problems. The investment being you, if you missed that part.
But it's not all training and tests, the twin spires of the facility house a number of entertainment and shopping venues, and the nearby city of New Canavral is just a tram ride away. Make yourself comfortable, and get to know your fellow settlers. Hell, get to know your competition while your at it. This is your time to say your last farewell to the planet Earth, because the ship you’re getting on is a one way trip.
